I read all the provided instructions, read the underside of the scale too, and it has been very accurate. I noticed if you just step on the scale before "waking it up", you could have false erratic readings. Make sure you zero it out buy stepping on, then off the scale, wait for it to zero out, to read 0.0, then weigh in.
